Vittorio Pagani is a judge in Milan renown for his righteousness and on the verge of becoming the president of Milan Tribunal. On the sentimental front, however, he is deeply shaken by the recent death of his wife that has complicated the already difficult relationship with his son Matteo. Their lifes will be further upset when the boy runs over the young member of a crime family, the Silvas, with his car.
Following this tragic event, Vittorio will understand that he is ready to do anything to protect his son's life, even at the cost of questioning the integrity of his career and the righteousness of his life. Furthermore, this mafia family is already an old acquaintance of the judge: in the past, it was him who, as Public Prosecutor, dismantled this organization and get the clan chief arrested.
Therefore, Vittorio will have to do everything to protect himself and his son: if it were found out who caused the accident, the mafia group would not hesitate for a moment to kill Matteo, in order to obtain the much desired revenge.
