Brave and hardworking guy Kostya meets Olga, the banker's daughter. Her father is categorically against the marriage of his daughter with a boy who is not from their circle. In order to win the favor of the chosen one's parents, Kostya seeks to gain status and wealth, so he leaves the city. Meanwhile, the son of the regional prosecutor begins courting his beloved.
