The new Saarbrücken commissioner (Devid Striesow) takes care of an orphaned child in a hardware store.
The little Arabic girl doesn't speak a word of German, but Stellbrink quickly gains her trust. Melinda, that's the name of the little girl, takes the inspector to a nearby cheap hotel. At first everything looks as if the girl's relatives live here, but then Stellbrink realizes: Something is wrong here. He can free the girl from the room and they both flee, because three armed men are chasing after them. But why?
