The brother-in-law and sister of a wealthy bachelor inadvertently put a damper on their holiday plans. A professor whose modest salary doesn't permit much spending for Christmas gifts. When his wife's brother arrives laden with expensive gifts there is a bitter argument that leads to a better understanding of Christmas.
