Alison is stumped when she walks into Matt and Anne's hazardous, mismatched kitchen. The layout is all wrong and the finishes are worse. In three days, she overhauls the space - first changing glass doors into windows, moving the sink across the room and eliminating a clunky peninsula to make room for a real dining area. Next, Alison brings in basil colored cabinetry and adds dummy strap hinges for extra style. A dark birch engineered hardwood floor levels out the space and hand-painted tile, sconce lighting and butcher block countertops give the kitchen an urban farmhouse feel. A DIY burlap pin board and repurposed ladder pot rack help the homeowners stay organized in style. And to finish off the look, Alison installs a barn wood accent wall made out of re-claimed wood.
