Mary Andrews, a big city columnist, in Paris on a combined business and pleasure trip, meets her old friend Dutch Morgan. Morgan is to visit the Nadeaus, a French family who aided him when his plane was shot down during World War 2. Since the family does not know that Morgan and his wife are separated, Mary promises to fulfill the role. An estranged American plans to visit a French family who protected him during World War II However, he lacks the nerve to face them without the wife they heard him talk so much about.
