Nick suspects a pompous landowner who is desperate to get his hands on her cottage, whilst Blaketon is certain her ruthless, money-driven son-in-law is their man. Meanwhile, Greengrass takes the law into his own hands when he is nearly killed by a farmer while walking his dog on the moors, whilst Ventress strikes up a bond with a kitten and hides it at the police station.
