After the death of Hadji Trifun, his son Jovca took over the care of the family estate. Haji Trifun's second son, Efendi Mita, is careless about his inheritance. He goes on long trips, trying to escape from himself and his responsibilities to his family.
A chance meeting with a former maid, Stojna, will awaken old feelings and sins of the past. On the other hand, Jovca patiently acquires wealth and has a special love for his daughter, Vaska.
