Lord El-Melloi II turns to the necromancer Kairi Shishigou for help with his investigation. A fierce beast known as the Black Dog ambushes Gray and Shishigou. After witnessing the Black Dog's reaction to Gray's Mystic Code, Lord El-Melloi II begins to draw conclusions.
